Bonnie Clayton Consulting has a results-driven approach based on advising on and building multi-faceted and mutually beneficial partnerships. These are engineered to raise funds, awareness and support for charities, public sector and community organisations, whilst also meeting the needs of donors, sponsors and partners.
Background
Bonnie Clayton is a business and marketing graduate with a post-graduate Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma in International Marketing.
Over 18 years in the corporate, voluntary and public sectors, she has worked with a wide range of causes spanning overseas development, volunteering, the environment, fair trade, children, youth, women, health, disability, sports, cancer, medical research, the arts, crafts, early years, play, education, training, leadership, media and skills development.
Experience
Bonnie Clayton started her career as Brand Manager and then Marketing Controller for Enco Products of WT Foods.
She moved to the voluntary sector in 1997, her first role being Marketing and Fundraising Campaign Manager at The European Children’s Trust.
Bonnie’s other voluntary sector experience includes a significant period as Corporate Fundraising Manager and Sponsorship and Marketing Partnership Manager at Scope.
Bonnie Clayton entered the public sector in 2003 when she became Corporate Relations Manager during a £13 million capital appeal at Barts Hospital . Once the appeal was completed, Bonnie moved on to became a key player in the set up and launch of a new charity at Barts and The London NHS Trust - The Heart Cells Foundation. Here she worked as Corporate Relations Manager on a £6m appeal for cardiac stem cell research.
Before becoming a Consultant, Bonnie was Head of Fundraising for The Children’s Fund, devising a new fundraising strategy and appeal for the children’s hospital within The Royal London Hospital.
Over more than a decade, Bonnie has also undertaken a number of voluntary positions in UK organisations including Oxfam, World Development Movement (WDM), Chicken Shed Theatre and Save the Children, as well as within a host of smaller charities overseas.
Bonnie Clayton is a full member of the Institute of Fundraising and abides by the Institute’s Codes of Conduct for Fundraisers and Fundraising Consultants. Bonnie is also a Director of and full member of the Association of Fundraising Consultants and adheres to the AFC Code of Practice.
